My earliest memories of Harvard go back to fourth or fifth grade, where we met at church. He used to bring books to read while I would go running around causing mischief. I think we can all see what our relative maturity levels were during that time. We would later attend both Dana Junior High and Arcadia High School together, before embarking onto bigger and better things at the University of California at Berkeley.
During those unforgettable years, we had memorable moments working together in leadership groups, braving the artery clogging power of Church's chicken, stealing Harvard's Corvette in the middle of Barnes & Noble's parking lot, donning the full Batman suit at Hometown Buffet, and much, much more.
Harvard has been the best friend I could have ever hoped for, being there for me whether in the best of times, or the worst of times.
I met Cindy in the summer of 2000 while at Berkeley, and predicted that she and Harvard would be married someday. Well, actually I didn't, but I knew they had a bright future when I heard that they had gone out for dinner at Hot Pot City while they were getting to know each other.
Cindy's enthusiasm and joyful disposition always makes me smile, and her blacksmithing skills never cease to amaze me.
After college I spent about a year at the Fremont Police Department fighting crime to fulfill my superhero dreams. Circumstances changed however, and nowadays I deal with the law in a different way, as a law student at the McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento.
It is my great pleasure and honor to serve as Harvard's best man, and I look forward to seeing all of you later this year in October where we will have a spectacular wedding celebration!
Best wishes,
John Woo
